Frequently asked questions

We know — a robot in your store can raise a lot of serious questions. Below, we've outlined the most common questions we receive.

What kind of store can we run in?

Our robots are designed to operate in large to medium format brick-and-mortar retail locations, ranging from mass-market retailers to grocery stores.

What do you scan?

We provide Real-Time State of the Store™ insights into dry grocery, general merchandise, health and beauty, fresh, freezer, apparel and more; basically almost everything you would find on the shelves.

How often does it scan?

We work with retailers to identify the optimal scan schedule based on store processes and other relevant factors. Scans are typically pre-planned based on store schedule. Scan schedules can be adjusted for store-specific events, holidays, etc.

What data do you deliver?

The data delivered is tailored to the retailer’s specific business processes. Out-of-stocks, on-shelf items requiring correction, missed price changes, and missing flag tags are just a few examples.

How do you get that data?

Our robots travel autonomously, up and down the aisles, capturing images of shelves up to 8 feet in height. Data is sent wirelessly to the cloud where it is made available at scale.

Do you need WiFi access?

Yes, our robots use WiFi to transmit and receive data. They can also use LTE as a fall-back (incremental charges will apply).

What is your service model?

We provide a managed service that includes robot deployment, management and maintenance, data analysis and delivery of data that meets your specifications.

Do you need any structural changes to my store environment?

The only change our robots require is the installation of a charging station, ideally in an area of the store with low customer traffic.

Where do you store the robot in store?

During a single-store pilot, the robot is stored off the sales floor in a secure location. During a larger-scale rollout, the robot is stored on the sales floor at the aforementioned charging station.

How have other retailers’ employees accepted the bot?

They love it! Our robots are great at repetitive, mundane tasks like scanning thousands of labels multiple times a day and analyzing that data. Ultimately, the data collected by the robot helps stores run more efficiently, helps prioritize associates work and frees them up to provide great customer service.
